Volunteer Drivers

Why Can’t We Feed Everyone (WCWFE, Inc.) is an Ottawa-based not for profit organization dedicated to helping eradicate hunger in Ottawa by creating partnerships between local restaurants and local donation centers. WCWFE partners with local restaurants across the city to pick up (rescue) unused food and deliver it to local missions and shelters.

WCWFE is working hard to bridge the gap between local food establishments and local donations centers in our fight to FEED EVERYONE!!

We are currently seeking qualified individuals to volunteer as Volunteer Drivers.

Brief Description:

We are looking for volunteer drivers who can volunteer approximately 1-2 times a week (approximately 2 hours each time). As a Volunteer Driver, your time will be spent picking up food from various locations (restaurants) across the city and then delivering that to local partnered donation centers across Ottawa. Days of pick-up vary based on restaurant requirements. Actual pick-up times are flexible to accommodate the drivers availability. Each Volunteer will be fully trained and given supplies in order to complete their task.

Requirements:

• Candidates are required to have a valid Ontario Drivers License and access to a vehicle. The successful candidate would have to provide proof that s/he has a valid driver’s license upon being selected;
• Flexible weekly hours between 10am-5pm, 5pm-11pm and weekend hours between 12 noon and 8pm;
• Experience in the not for profit or charitable sector is an asset;
• Interest to give back to the community and really make a difference is a must!
