Why Can’t We Feed Everyone (WCWFE Inc.) is a volunteer based not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping in the fight against hunger in the Ottawa region by creating partnerships between local restaurants and local donation centers (shelters and missions). Donation centers across Ottawa are increasingly struggling to meet the growing demand for food. WCWFE is helping to bridge that gap by rescuing food from local food establishments and getting it into the hands of local donations centers. Join us in our fight to FEED EVERYONE!!
WCWFE is currently looking to add passionate and dedicated individuals to join its Board of Directors.

Brief Description
WCWFE is an incorporated not-for-profit operating in the Ottawa region. Governed by a team of 5 volunteer board of Directors and with the help of a pool of truly dedicated volunteers, WCWFE is working to eradicate hunger from the Ottawa region. WCWFE’s board is a hands-on team involved in all aspects of operations, including strategic planning, fundraising, event planning, communications, volunteer resource management and overall governance. The board meets formally on a quarterly basis, however does meet informally in-between as required for fundraising and event planning.
The ideal board member would have:
- Commitment to WCWFE’s Mission, Vision and Values;
- Strong communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team;
- Ability to commit the time required as a member of the WCWFE Board of Directors – estimated 6 to 8 hours per month;
- Previous not-for-profit Board experience is an asset
WCWFE is particularly interested in candidates with the following knowledge and experience:
- Event Planning;
- Grant Proposal Writing;
- Fundraising
- Community Relations
